Berg River Restoration Initiative
Location: Pniël, Western Cape, South Africa
The project brought together numerous prominent local, institutional and corporate stakeholders, securing their commitment to economic transformation in the area. A major impact generator was the re-building of a through road in Pniël, accompanied by infrastructural beautification detail. This endeavor laid the foundation for meaningful tourism development in the area.
Project Development Stage:
A project in the early life of Talmar. The primary project objective was sustainable socio-economic development of the rural triangle between Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl. Key project elements were focused on infrastructure, tourism strategy, and small business development. During this time the Dwarsrivier Tourism office was established, and a beautification project including a new road through Pniël was undertaken.
